Holy Schmoly! that is a big dude who wants beer!

I was working at a small boutique in Venice and heard about this pitch going around for bids. It sounded like the right studio could make it really kewl! And they did! AND! in light of my previous post - they used mocap they way mocap should be used!

I am inspired more and more by all of the little boutiques worldwide and how they are pushing VFX,CG, 2D and creativity in advertising! Whoah! Besides the big guy is walking round my neighborhood! No lie! The bar at the end is a favorite spot for John Riggs and I get a beer and a fajita! The walk cycle is full of attitude too!

Brand new spot for Miller Lite from CP+B and Method that recalls the studio's 2004 "Carry" spot for Adidas (featuring Kevin Garnett strolling though the city with a convincing heap of people atop his shoulders) and a kind of reverse "Stress Monster" ala Asylum for Element 79 from earlier this year.

James LeBloch, Method’s lead 3D artist on getting the 1200 CG extras to behave: “We worked with House of Moves to obtain all of the motion capture clips to then feed in to the Massive software. Incorporating those in Massive, we also needed to blend real world dynamics on to the mocap moves; the individuals had to react to events both as individuals and as a group. We knew very quickly that we wouldn’t be able to hand-animate each and every person in the scene. We needed a dynamic system that could respond appropriately.”
