So, It's been almost a year since Jamie and I started this blog and well, it's really me doing the writing here. Jamie reads the blog regularly and sends me emails when he really digs a post, but since (as a storyboard artist) he doesn't actually sit in front of a computer anymore...it's just not convenient for him to post.
So, since it's really MY blog :) - I wanted to add some more personal posts. Here goes...
I went to a birthday party at Cheese and Olive Friday night and the birthday girl was drinking the wine and singing and just having a grand ol time. You see, at this restaurant they give you words to "That's Amore" and everyone sings and clinks glasses...it's quite a scene. She was having so much fun - I just had to draw her. (Sorry there is a "bad word" on the sketch too, but I think you can handle it) The reason I wanted to post this is...you should be always sketching! Anytime inspiration strikes you. I used to be afraid to sketch in public thinking someone might say my drawings suck or whatever. But, you have to get all those bad drawings out to get a good one.
So, I had this weird pencil in my purse that I randomly bought one day at the art store. It has red, green, yellow and blue colors on it depending on which way you turn it to draw. I pulled it out and started to sketch Danielle. This is by no means a great sketch, and I had some wine by then myself...but it sure made everyone at the table happy because it actually looked like her.
So the moral of this story is to keep sketching no matter where you are!
