The Good Brush

I first discovered Craig Mullins back in the late 80's when I was working at Oddworld. This guy really understands how to play light across a surface to describe it. The artists at Oddworld were always pushing light and shadow in CG and these images have that same raw emotional storytelling played out with light.

The new navigation to his site is a bit clumsy, but worth the load times to see the detail.

Another nice little Easter egg I found hidden in this site is a paper from Craig's time at Art center studying illustration. It's notes on John Singer Sargent - from various sources (mostly from Evan Charteris biography of Sargent), really rare information from an American Master. ~Angie
